consider another incremental game. cause why not. basically a sorta, toybox with incremental settings that can cause chain reactions
like, you need to build up 10 tiles somehow and place them in an arrangement where they give off multiple points. with which you can unlock other tile types, or materials to make them…
you can grow the grid, modify the grid, get BIG tiles, unlock more unconventional mechanics like… well i’ll think about it.
okay so, you have normal tetris. it’s not called tetris actually - it’s legally distinct tetris. Tetta. prototype name.
it’s incremental, but slow. imagine Bejeweled 3’s Zen Mode, except it’s tetris, and it has more things. like, you play enough tetris to fulfill a score requirement, and go to the next level, and this keeps going --- but some things unlock when you reach certain levels. like, here are some examples that have not been considered for game balance:
but then, at some point far in, you start getting the wacky stuff.
the main challenge i think is keeping people engaged - but at the same time i feel like that’s kind of the point? this’d be a longterm chill game you can pop up whenever to finish a couple rounds of relaxing tetris. i know that’s ironic after mentioning Battles, but in my mind they’d be optional.
honestly it could also just be one level, and you fulfill requirements. you have a bar that you gotta fill same as before, but maybe there’s multiple bars. specific line amounts, maybe an Artifact bar, etc. etc…
there’s a lot of ways it can go --- but to start off, it should be pretty simple. just implement basic tetris.
well. i need to do SRS i presume, for the most power. maybe you can switch to ARS, which grants 2x points since it’s harder, and lets you unlock Maestro or something.
ok that’s all for now
